Source: King Khalid University - Administration of Media and Communication His Excellency the Rector of King Khalid University Prof. Fallah bin Raja Al-Solamy congratulates the wise leadership on the success of Hajj season for the year 1442 AH. In the same context, he praises the Kingdom’s efforts in organizing it in immunizing the largest possible number of citizens and residents. This came during Eid Al Adha annual greeting ceremony organized by the university on Monday Morning. On this occasion, His Excellency the Rector thanks the employees of the outpatient clinics at the University Medical City for their distinguished efforts during Eid Al-Adha holidays to provide immunization services to the university’s employees, students, students of public education and all groups of society. Moreover, he also stresses the importance of everyone’s cooperation with these efforts and keenness to receive the vaccine for a safe return to school seats. Additionally, he is also welcoming the freshmen students who joined the university recently, stressing the university’s representatives; deans and staff on the importance of helping them and providing any service that might need. In the same regard, General Supervisor of the University Branch in Tuhama, Dr. Ahmed Atef Al-Shehri synchronously holds Eid Al Adha Greeting Ceremony and transfers all the university staff members greetings in Tuhama to His excellency.

New two services for the university applicants

Source: King Khalid University - Administration of Media and Communication King Khalid University, represented by the Deanship of Admission and Registration, announces the continuation of the services: (Admission Change) and Immediate Admission). In addition to that, it has implemented 14,623 operations to serve the beneficiaries of the deanship services for the 1443 AH admission. In more details, the Dean of Admission and Registration at the university, Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Qarni, explained that the deanship has implemented multiple services for the beneficiaries as: Technical support was provided through 3784 calls, and 3885 inquiries. 1735 residence proofs were provided. 1059 review confirmations were provided. 1,733 technical support e-mails were sent. 367 "Enjaz" transactions were handled. In the same regard, he notified the two services (Admission Change) and (Immediate Admission) will still be available up to 18th of Dhul-Hijjah. He also noted that since the beginning of the two services last Monday, 2nd of Dhu of al-Hijjah, there were 1684 (Admission Change) operations were carried out, while 376 (Immediate Admission) operations were handled during the same period. The university receives general education students and employees to get the vaccine immunization against the COVID 19

Source: King Khalid University - Administration of Media and Communication King Khalid University, represented by the Corona Vaccine Center in the university’s medical city, allowed students and employees of public education to benefit from the center’s services to get the vaccine against COVID 19. On this day the 12th of July, the center witnessed the launch of its work by immunizing the employees and students of general education. This was in the presence of the in charge General Director of Asir Education, Prof. Safar Al-Baridi, and the Executive Director of the University Medical City, Prof. Fouad Abaq. At the beginning of the inauguration, Prof. Fouad Abaq gave an overview of the center services. He stressed on the university’s keenness to provide immunization services to all segments of society. Such keenness is based on the directives of the University Rector Prof. Faleh bin Raja Al-Solamy. He also pointed to the university’s interest in providing the vaccine for general education employees in order to return to the educational environment safely. From the part of in-charge General Director of Asir Education, he thanked the university and all those working in the Vaccine Center, praising the cooperation and efforts made. On that notice, he also urges all education employees in Asir to take the vaccine which will lead to the safe return to study seats. It is noteworthy that the University’s Corona Vaccine Center continues to provide the immunization services for the first and second doses during the Eid Al-Adha vacation for university employees and students as well as general education employees and students, including the age groups 12 years and above.

University Announces the Admission of More than Thousand Students

Candidates are to be informed through text message  after the  automatic sorting according to the admission criterion, the number of seats and the order of interests. The Dean of Admission  at the university, Dr. Abdul Mohsen Al-Qarni, explained that the number of candidates has reached more than 12,000 male and female students, stressing that  candidate can enter the admission services to view application results  and accept offer s , adding that the approval period will close on Sunday the 11th of July. Al-Qarni said  that all admissions, sorting and nomination processes were done automatically without any human intervention, adding that  the Deanship will continue to provide support through the unified call center 0172418000, as well as the admission inquiries service. Receiving more than 21 Thousand Applications and Offering Technical Support to 6 Thousand Beneficiary

Source: King Khalid University Media and Communications The Deanship of Admission at King Khalid University announced that this evening, Thursday, 28 Dhu al-Qa’dah, is the closing date for  admission applications for  the bachelor’s and diploma degrees  for the academic year 1443AH . The Dean of Admission  at the university, Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Qarni, explained that more than 21 thousand applications were  received, and admission will remain open  until 11:59 pm today, Thursday, the 7th of July 2021. Al Qarni explained that the deanship has offered the necessary support during this period to more than 6 thousand beneficiaries. He  also added, "Out of the Deanship's keenness to improve its services, the Deanship has surveyed applicants electronically,  rates  show that accessibility in admission submission  reached 92%, while electronic admission services in general exceeded 84%. Al-Qarni stressed that all sorting and nomination processes are fully automated without human intervention, and the results of  admission will be announced for applicants on Saturday, 30th Dhu al-Qi'dah.

European Union Ambassador Visits KKU

Source: King Khalid University Media and Communications On Wednesday the 7th of July, His Excellency King Khalid University president , Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Sulami, met in his office at the university campus “ Greger “ the Ambassador of the European Union to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, "Patrick Simonet". During the meeting, the university president welcomed the ambassador to King Khalid University  and  briefed him  on the university departments,  colleges and future plans. On his part the Ambassador Patrick Simonet expressed his joy to witness the development and efforts demonstrated in King Khalid University , the two parties also discussed a number of topics and common interest issues. It is reported that Ambassador Patrick Simonet was accompanied during his visit to the university by the Head of the Department of Commerce and Economic Affairs, Mr. Patrick Ealing.

University Launches the Third Edition of the International Summer Training Program

Source: King Khalid University Media and Communications King Khalid University recently launched the virtual international summer training program for  year 1442 AH, in its third edition, for students, in cooperation with the most prominent universities and specialized agencies in the United States of America, Germany, Australia and the United Arab Emirates. University Vice President of Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Saad bin Muhammad bin Dajam, explained that due to the repercussions of the Corona Virus pandemic and the exceptional circumstances resulting from it, and after the cancellation of the International Summer Training Program for the year 1441 AH, King Khalid University found it necessary to continue the  training program and provide quality and efficient opportunities for their  students. In addition, the supervisor of the Student Training Unit at the University Vice Presidency for Educational and Academic Affairs, Dr. Mona Abdullah Al-Shehri, pointed  that one of the objectives of this training, which is supervised by the unit, is to provide qualitative training that enriches the university experience for outstanding students, and to encourage trainees to link theory with practice, and broadening their  horizons of trainees by providing them with the opportunity to engage in a diverse and different cultural educational environment, and to benefit from modern technologies, research developments and the extensive experience of trainers in training institutions.

A Meeting with the Dean of Postgraduate Studies at the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al Fae’

Source: king Khalid University Media and Communications King Khalid University pays great attention to the post graduate  studies programs, through a variety of  accredited graduate programs, and  in accordance with international quality standards, the university seeks  to enable outstanding students to continue their education  and  prepare them with qualifications needed for the current national job market. The university is home to  qualitative and interdisciplinary postgraduate programs in various disciplines .Recent statistics indicated that the number of university programs supervised by the Deanship of Graduate Studies amounted to more than 100 accredited programs, stressing  that the deanship  annually  receives about 10,000 applications and more than 3,500 students enrolled in various disciplines and are  currently studying in its programs. Regarding  the Deanship of Graduate Studies affairs  and its executive and future plans, we met with the deanship’s dean , Prof. Dr. Ahmed bin Yahya Al Fae’, who confirmed the Deanship’s continuous endeavor to complete the adoption of additional programs through relevant councils and committees, and the development of  existing programs, in addition to developing other programs  that are compatible with development plans, and  meet the needs of  our society, and the requirements of the labor market. During the meeting  with Al Fae’ confirmed that the Deanship of Graduate Studies is working to achieve  specific goals and plans  by continuing to expand  programs, especially the inter-professional and executive programs that serve the labor market, in addition to  establishing partnerships with Saudi and international universities and updating study plans in accordance with the requirements of each stage.  On  tuition fees of the programs Al Fae’  explained that the Deanship, in cooperation with the faculties, took strides in opening fee-paid programs in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and with the requirements of the labor market, indicating the Deanship’s intention to transfer all remaining programs to tuition fees programs. It’s worth noting that the deanship of graduate studies is keen on developing programs and creating opportunities that serve the community and contribute to creating jobs.

University Patents a Gene Integrated into the Surface and Nucleus proteins of the Covid-19

Source: king Khalid University Media and Communications A research team from the Advanced Materials Science Research Center at King Khalid University was able to register a patent in  the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property for “a gene integrated into the  surface proteins and the nucleus of the Covid 19 virus”, as part of the research supported by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in the fast track to support research on the  Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19). The research team consists of Dr. Essam Hassan Ibrahim (lead researcher), Prof. Dr. Hamid Ali Al Gharamah and Dr. Mona Kilani Abdel Gawad (associate researchers). The idea of ​​the invention is to produce a unit for rapid detection of infection with the emerging corona virus (Covid-19) in an accurate, easy, fast and economical way. It is worth noting that Dr. Issam Hassan Ibrahim works as a part-time consultant at the Advanced Materials Science Research Center, and  is an assistant professor in the Biology Department - College of Science with more than fifty publication. And  Prof. Dr. Hamid Ali Al-Gharama has published more than One hundred scientific papers in international classified journals and has many patents.

University President Inaugurates Ten New Electronic Services

Source: King Khalid University Media and Communications His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Solami, recently launched a package of new electronic services offered  by the Deanship of Admission and Registration for male and female students, with the aim of facilitating and improving their academic procedures. University  Vice Rector for Educational and Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Saad bin Muhammad bin Dajam, who attended the inauguration of the new electronic services, said : that the agency is very keen on activating  electronic services to ensure the quality and speed of performance, pointing to the efforts made by the General Administration of Information Technology to serve the university  in this regard. In addition, the Dean of Admission and Registration at the university, Dr. Abdulmohsen bin Eid Al-Qarni, stressed during the inauguration meeting the deanship’s keenness to provide its services with the latest means and methods that guarantee rights and facilitate  procedures in line with the development and progress of the university in technical aspects.
