Rector Sponsors Fall 2020 Virtual Reception for First-Year Students

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center His Excellency, King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, sponsored the virtual reception for new students, which was organized by the Office of the Vice Rector for Educational and Academic Affairs, in the presence and participation of senior leadership. Rector Al-Solamy opened the meeting with a welcoming speech: " I happy you are all here with me today. Together we salute the efforts of our nation and those in the education sector. E-learning during the COVID-19 pandemic had become a strategic option for the future, and we are on the frontier together. We are here to provide assistance and support to you all. We want you to achieve success at King Khalid University. I extend my sincere gratitude to the organizers and participants of this meeting." Vice Rector for Educational and Academic Affairs, Prof. Saad Du' ajim, congratulated the new students and gave them an overview of what is required of them, explaining that we are offering essential roles for students in both academic and recreation. Vice Rector Du'ajim clarified that the Student Fund at the Deanship of Student Affairs recently launched a subsidy for purchasing smart devices or computers for students in need. Following after, Vice Rector for Female Student Affairs, Prof. Kholoud Abu Melha, and Tehama Campus Supervisor, Dr. Ahmed bin Atef Al-Shehri, congratulated the new students for their admission to King Khalid University, affirming our readiness to provide them with assistance. At the end of the ceremony, a presentation was delivered on best practices in utilizing recommend preventive measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also covered were the facilities and services offered to both the students and the communities in which they live. Several deans, supporting deanships, and directors also delivered an introduction to student services. Immediately following the Q&A session, several KKUx subscription packages were awarded.

Ceremony for meeting new students at Community College in Khamis Mushait

Under the supervision of the Dean of the Community College in Khamis Mushait, Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Mari'a The meeting with the new students was held at the College Theater     today :Wednesday     Date: 01/14/1442 AH the meeting was opened by a word of welcome by His Excellency the Dean, then a general explanation about the college departments and units, followed by a speech 1- Head of the E-Learning Unit, Dr. Muhammad Al-Shuaibi 2- Speech of the Head of the Academic Guidance and Counseling Units, Dr. Ali Muhammad Hashem 3 - Word of the College Registrar, Dr. Muhammad Al-Adawi In conclusion, some preventive measures have been taken that must be followed to prevent Corona virus.

A reception for new developments at the Female Section, Community College

                  Under the supervision of the College Vice Dean, Dr. Amal Hussein Al Mushait, with the introduction of the Supervisor of the E-Learning Unit, Prof. Randa Muhammad started a week of meeting with new students at the Community College Theater in Khamis Mushait (Female Section)     Day: Monday to Thursday     Date: 12-15 / 1/1442 An invitation and announcements were sent via the blackboard and across the college’s websites, in addition to sending a text message to each student to attend at the specified time and date, while adhering to the precautionary measures. The reception was in the college theater during two periods of the specified reception days, with theater chairs divided (5.1 meters) between each chair and teaching the chairs to sit in.

The University rank according to the Times

                  Source: King Khalid University_ Media Center According to the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, the University ranked 179 in International Dimension among 200 universities. The University ranked 501 internationally, a 100 ranks less than the previous year, and fourth nationally. The University Vice-President of Development and Quality, Dr. Marzan Al-Shahrani, confirmed this achievement is a part of a series of strategically planned goals; so KKU can have a renowned place internationally. The University Strategic Vision included: making a position in the top 200 by 2030, and becoming a global center for science, knowledge and scientific research. In a way that contributes to enhancing its institutional and academic reputation nationally and internationally, and achieving the highest quality levels in the University's programs and outcomes. The General Supervisor of the International Ranking Unit, Dr. Sami Al-Shehri, explained the Times Higher Education World University Rankings has five criteria with fixed percentages. They are: 30% on Education, 30% on Scientific Research, 30% on Research Citations, 7,5% on International Outlook and 2.5 on Industry Income. The ranking also has 13 performance indicators with fixed percentages to professionally asses the universities’ academic and research aspects. The results of this ranking included 1527 universities from 93 countries around the world.

A cooperation agreement between KKU and the Saudi German Hospital

                  Source: king Khaled University- Media Center Today, in the presence of His Excellency the University Rector Prof. Faleh Al-Solami. king Khaled university signing a cooperation agreement with the Saudi German Hospital in Aseer, which comes within their sense of responsibility to achieve integration between the two sides to raise the programs level and activities that serve human development in Asir region and to exchange support and activate scientific medical forums. In the agreement, Prof. Saad bin Abdullrahman Alamri , Vice-Dean of the Postgraduate and Scientific Research Deanship, is representative the university, and Dr. Mohammad bin Dhafer Alshehri,CEO, representative the hospital side the agreement has been signed. the agreement _which will be held for 3years_ terms include, holding medical conferences, workshops, and educational medical seminars, as well as marketing the events that the Hospital holds among students from health colleges, faculty members, and health institutions. Al-Shehri thanked His Excellency the University Rector and prof. Alamri for signing the agreement for s permanent cooperation to serve the region and its children, praising the university role towards the health of the region and its cadres.

The University President supervises the educational process and meets students in actual and virtual classrooms

                Source: King Khalid University_ Media Center His Excellency King Khalid University President Prof. Falleh bin Raja Allah Al-Sulami, was accompanied by the University Vice-President for Educational and Academic Affaires Prof. Sa’ad bin Dejum on Sunday; to see the latest developments in the educational process at the University. They visited a number of collages to make sure the COVID-19 protocols were followed. Al-Sulami, was briefed on the educational process by the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Ali Al-Shatti. Then he meet a number of freshmen students in the College of Science training labs while they were training on Black Board. He braised the faculty members’ efforts in training students and adhering to the social distancing procedures. He stressed on the importance of constantly providing protective means in classes and labs. He advised freshmen on benefitting from the e-services to facilitate their education, whisking them all the best. Al-Sulami made a speech to the students in an online lecture, welcoming them and stressing on the University’s eagerness to offer whichever benefit their academic life especially under such circumstances. The Dean of the Pharmacy Collage Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Suairi, introduced to his excellency  an app developed by the College during these circumstances. It gives students an opportunity to train as pharmacists interactively. The training is through an electronic virtual pharmacy, in which the trainee receives prescriptions and then gives the medicines to the patients. The process is supervised and assessed electronically by faculty members. It’s worth mentioning the University started off the academic year for around 60 thousand students. The Deans meet students online to welcome them and answer their questions.

                  Source: king Khaled University- Media Center His excellency, king Khaled university Rector Prof.Faleh Alsolami has launched "safe return" initiative, for the faculty members, represented by the University Agency for Educational and Academic Affairs, along with the beginning of this academic year 1442AH. His Excellency the University Rector congratulated the university faculty members and students, on the new academic year, He also stressing on the need to serve students, and take care of the educational process and learning outcomes during COVID-19 crisis. Prof. Saad bin Dejem, Vice Rector for Educational and Academic Affairs, praised this initiative, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of upholding the Precautionary measures against COVID-19, and to ensure continuing the educational process to enable students getting a good education with safety. furthermore, Dr. Fahd Atif, the advisor at the University Agency for Academic Affairs and the initiative director, said:" Safe initiative included a procedural guide for students and faculty members, that focusing on the health protocols and academic procedures that must be followed to ensure the students and all university employees safety, also an awareness videos. The agency also produced more than three thousand educational posters, which distributed to all the university's departments.

the University Postgraduate Studies Deanship admitted students into 85 programs and working to expand admission

                                  Source: king Khaled University- Media Center Prof. Ahmad Alfae', Dean of Postgraduate studies Deanship, " the deanship is keen to cooperate with colleges and departments to launch new programs, and enlarge the absorptive capacity of the acceptance, in addition to reconsidering th admission's conditions of the programs" Alfaee' says. Furthermore, Alfaee'  clarifying  that the  Deanship has finished the admission procedures of this academic year 1442 AH, with  707 accepted students in the academic programs, and 1000 students in the pay fees programs; 85 program ( high diploma, master and phd programs) 19 programs of them are new programs, in addition to, allowing  the acceptance for the female students in the systemic program(master degree),which  brings about 12% increasing more than last year in admission.   the admission procedures were completed after the conditions were approved by the relevant departments and colleges and the University Council. Worth noting that all applications for admission were received electronically, this is after the announcement via the university's website, newspapers and social media. Ahmad Alfaee' pointing out that applicants' admission are audited electronically, and then comes  the differentiation stage, electronically, according to the criteria that have been approved by the relevant councils, he also  emphasizing on the Deanship's keenness, objectivity and transparency in informing the applicants with their  results via text messages and different means. Worth noting that, this year's admission procedures, verifying documents _for kku graduate students_ are electronically. Furthermore, in the light of Saudi 2030 vision, and in order to meet the labor market requirements; the deanship established a new programs, high diplomas: Family Counseling program, Drugs Prevention and Psychotropic Substances, Cybersecurity program, plus a  master degree programs: Educational Policies,  Autism Disorder, Arabic Language, Media, Crisis Communication, Tourism Media, and Renewable Energy and Environment.

5-Day E-Learning Practitioner Online Course Launched

                  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Deanship of E-learning at King Khalid University launched a training program for faculty members entitled "E-learning Practitioner". The asynchronous online program, which will last for five days through Blackboard, is an initiative to help augment internal training efforts through increased educator efficiency. To register, please (click here). Dean of E-Learning, Dr. Fahad Abdullah Al-Ahmari, explained that the training program is a part of the preparations for the 2020/21 academic year. Dean Al-Ahmari highlighted that the self-training program is accessible anytime and anywhere via BlackBoard. He pointed out that this type of training is self-paced.

Rector Al-Solamy Congratulates Faculty Nembers on New Academic Year
